Rex Davis
Rex Davis began his career in Cincinnati under his real name, Frank Zwygart, before adopting the on-air identity that St. Louis would come to know and trust. Joining KMOX in 1946, Davis quickly earned a reputation as a commanding and credible newsman.
His greatest success came with ”Total Information AM”, co-hosted with Bob Hardy, which at its peak drew an extraordinary 33 share of listeners. Known as the “Voice of St. Louis,” Davis also revealed his humor on ”The Jack Carney Show”, endearing him to audiences across the city.
Davis embodied the best traditions of broadcast journalism. His “Strictly Editorial” program gave voice to area newspapers’ viewpoints, and his journalistic specials were thoroughly researched and presented with a sincere appreciation for the subjects they covered.
