Dan Kelly
Dan Kelly is one of hockey’s most respected and remembered, and beloved play-by-play voices. His passionate and precise play-by-play made him the definitive voice of St. Louis Blues hockey for 21 years. Broadcasting on KMOX, Kelly brought the speed and drama of the game to life with unmatched skill and enthusiasm.
Because most hockey broadcasts came at night, Kelly’s play-by-play could be heard in most of the U.S. and a good portion of Canada over the booming KMOX signal. In the off-season, he could be heard on broadcast teams covering Cardinal baseball and Mizzou football.
His calls became part of St. Louis sports lore, earning him national recognition and a place in the broadcast wing of the Hockey Hall of Fame. For fans, Dan Kelly was — and remains — the sound of the Blues.
