John McCormick’s deep, resonant voice was literally the sound of KMOX heard by a large audience late at night. John was part of an era when the announcers with melodious voices and impeccable diction held forth on the airwaves.
Affectionately known as “The Man Who Walks and Talks at Midnight,” John McCormick was unique in St. Louis radio for his style, which brought a dominant and loyal following to KMOX at night. Other major powerhouse stations around the country had similar programs at the time, but there was only one John McCormick.
